The four "new" ones are from 'Transmissions from the Future', a concert performed at St. Ann's Warehouse on March 2nd 2008 in celebration of the release of the new album 'Must Don't Whip 'Um', mixed live and recorded by the fabulous Jamie McElhinney. The concert was performed by Gloria Deluxe (Cynthia Hopkins on accordion, guitar, and piano; Kristin Mueller on drums; Josh Stark on bass; Philippa Thompson on guitar and violin; and Karen Waltuch on guitar and viola) with Jim Findlay (baritone), Curtis Hasselbring (trombone), Kirk Knuffke (trumpet), Susan Oetgen (vocals), and Jeff Sugg (trumpet).

The three "less new" ones are actually old ones, back by popular demand: recorded by Chad Clark at Inner Ear ('Grist for the Mill' and 'Cover Me with Your Darkness' played by Chris Bonner, Mark Doran, Cynthia Hopkins, and Philippa Thompson) and by Jim Dawson ('Recurring Dreams' played by Cynthia Hopkins).

The three "newer" ones are songs from a live show at Club Helsinki in Great Barrington, MA (Friday June 8th, 2007); mixed and recorded by the wondrous Peter Lindstrom, and played by Cynthia Hopkins (accordion and guitar), Kristin Mueller (drums), Josh Stark (bass), Philippa Thompson (violin), and Karen Waltuch (viola).

The three "least new" ones are recordings made by Jim Dawson at the Wexner Center for the Arts in April 2006, at a rehearsal; played by the same musicians as the newest songs.

Both the "newer" and the "least new" songs are intended for the album-in-progress LOVE is gonna be my weapon and YOU are gonna be my first victim. Someday, we hope to make this album. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy these live club and rehearsal takes.
