ACCINOSCO

ACCIDENTAL TRILOGY | PART I | PART II | PART III

Accinosco is a collective of performing artists, designers, and musicians dedicated to creating groundbreaking original works that meld music, text, technical and theatrical design, and video with unbelievable fact and outrageous fiction. Accinosco members include composer and performer Cynthia Hopkins, designers Jim Findlay and Jeff Sugg, singer Susan Oetgen, and the band Gloria Deluxe (Kristin Mueller, Josh Stark, Philippa Thompson, and Karen Waltuch). This core group works frequently with a host of collaborating artists including lighting designers Jason Boyd and Tyler Micoleau; sound designers Jim Dawson and Jamie McElhinney; director and filmmaker DJ Mendel; choreographers Diane Madden, Annie B Parson, and Jordana Che Toback; costume designer Tara Webb; production coordinator Anthony Cerrato; and performers and musicians including Steve Ciuffo, Curtis Hasselbring, Ben Holmes, John Hopkins, Sam Kulik, Jony Perez, Scott Sheperd, James Sugg, and Gary Wilmes.

Accinosco emerged through the creation of their seminal and acclaimed work, Accidental Nostalgia, which premiered in March 2004 at St. Ann's Warehouse (Brooklyn, NY). The group's second show, Must Don't Whip 'Um (conceived as a prequel/sequel to Accidental Nostalgia) premiered in January 2007 at the Walker Art Center (Minneapolis, MN). Accinosco's most recent creation, The Success of Failure (or, The Failure of Success) - Part III of The Accidental Trilogy, which serves as both prequel and sequel to Parts I (Accidental Nostalgia) and II (Must Don't Whip 'Um) - premiered in April 2009 at the Walker Art Center and at St. Ann's Warehouse in May-June 2009.
